 Society for Special Functions & their Applications

The Society for Special Functions and their Applications (SSFA) was founded in 1998 with its headquarter at Jaunpur (Uttar Pradesh, India), the seat of the Purvanchal University. Later, to facilitate its functioning, the Society was reregistered with head quarter at Lucknow in 1999. This is the only Society which exclusively caters and coordinate the research activities of the large group of workers in this country in this important branch of Analysis. The Society has interaction with the SIAM Activity Group - SIAM OPSF. Under the agreement the permission has been granted to SSFA, India for mutual exchange of information between Newsletter of SSFA and SIAM OPSF. The main objectives of the Society are;

  • To promote basic research in the field of Special Functions and their application in other areas of mathematics and in Science and industry.

  • To encourage and support the dissemination and exchange of information, ideas and techniques between researcher in this field and 
    in other areas of mathematics and science.

  • To be a counterpart of the SIAM Activity Group - SIAM OPSF.
